Chill out, it's not actually the real name, the Company asked for suggestions and people put them forward, this is was one of many funny suggestions and is currently leading the vote.
The Company board will choose the actual name, whatever it is named it will probably be known as Boaty Mcboatface, 😃

But when I think of stupid names for things I'm reminded of the Showjumping fraternity in the 70s who blatantly named horses with the names of their (Japanese electronics manufacturers) sponsors and so we would have for example

Pippa Schmippa - on Sanyo Belt Drive Dual Speed Turntable
Hoity O'Toity - on Toshiba 235 Twin Head VHS Recorder

etc. etc.
