Playing Boat of Garten for the first time this Saturday followed by Newtonmore on Sunday.

Anyone played the boat recently?

Really looking forward to it and in particular looking forward to playing the 15th... http://www.boatgolf.com/course/hole15

Think I'll lay up but we'll see :)

Have played Newtonmore previously so looking forward to that as well.

Pictures will follow next week.

I'm playing there on Sunday in the Village Hall Open.

My mate is a member and said the greens have been very slow this year even for golf week.

But its a great course, just stay on the fairway as the heather is out this time of year and is brutal.
short and on the fairway is better than long in the purple stuff.
Newtonmore, mostly a flat parkland course not bad though. can be wet as its on the valley floor and its been wet the last few weeks. I'm sure you will enjoy both courses.

15th is a no brainer, 7 iron off the tee same again depending on where the tee is. no advantage driving it cos you will have no idea where the ball will end up :D

Me and Mrs DIS are also playing in the Village Hall Open this Sunday
We love the course - and I always lay up on 15 short of the gully - there really is no advantage in ending up in it as you're left with a blind shot to a slopey green.

Add another playing the Greensomes this weekend.

Havn't played the Boat in a couple of years, and this the first time it's not been for the 36er in August, so hopefully better luck than I normally have duffing round there on my own.

You out at 14:10 Dick? I'm first pair out, good luck :D

Nice nearest pin prize at the 9th Dick, 33cm.

Awesome little golf course, superb setting, superb views, superb greens and a tough little cookie to score on. One of my favourite inland tracks in Scotland.

JJF69 loves the first hole.
