New PC is here and OMG it's so quick and silent. Mad dash to Argos though for a monitor as my old one wouldn't fit. Connector things too big.

I thought everyone just went for a laptop these days when buying a new PC?

Depends on how you're going to use it, if there's a place that it will always stay at anyway then I would still consider a desktop, much more oomph for the same price. Got 4 laptops and a desktop in our house and the two that get the most use are the desktop and the work laptop that's permanently on a docking station anyway.

welcome to the 21st century;)

an adaptor is easiest however I suspect its a DVI connector which will be better graphics anyway. I just got a new 24" flat screen monitor, great spec and at £131 a great price.

Given that you have 'seen' how quick it is, I presume that you have actually purchased a monitor. Otherwise Socket's suggestion of an adapter - or a different cable - would likely be the most economic way. Perhaps try that for HID's?

Yep, new monitor bought and having seen the size of mine;) HID is having a new one as well.

Srixon 1 - I don't like using a laptop.

Horses for courses. Like someone else mentioned you do get more performance out of a desktop PC than a laptop. I use a desktop PC all day at work so I try to avoid them when at home. Most of my internet stuff at home is done on my kindle.
