Jeez H Christ is was blowy today. Had the usual round today with Fragger and for the front 9 the wind was strong but steady. An imperious Imurg strode to 19 points (+3) with some scintillating shots. Fragger stumbled to 12 but wasn't doing too badly in the breeze.

Got to the 10th and it seems the cyclone that didn't really hit Cairns arrived in Aylesbury. All of a sudden the wind speed seemed to double. And it was gusting, made life really tricky. It became a case of survival for the back 9. Only scored 13 back and Fragger staggered to 8. But to be honest both scores were respectable in that hurricane. 82 shots and 32 points felt like 72 and 42 in those conditions.

Anyone else play in a hurricane today?

better man than me imurg, decided on the gym rather than the golf course with the wind howling, 32 points a hell of a score in todays weather round here

I played at whittlebury hall (northants) on Wednesday and it was blowing a gale. Staggered in with 29 points but like you say could have easily knocked off 7-10 shots due to the ball trying to come back at u off the tee!! Good shooting for u tho imurg, well played.

I played there yonks ago before the huge buildings went up - clubhouse was a portakabin! Seemed ok form what I remember.

it was blowing a hooley here in St' evenage

got my 1st ever proper round tomorrow with viscount, hope the wind dies down a lot and thankfully the forecast is little to no rain (thank god)

cant wait haha :D

Whittlebury is really good, so much so I am thinking of joining there when my current membership is up. The clubhouse is huge and really plush to be fair, has two tier range. I have to point out the greens are immense, so soft (literally like carpet) and the sand in the bunkers are top quality. There are 3 loops of 9 and all the holes are decent but what stcks out are the 2 par 3's on the red course over water and awesome. Monday - Wednesday you can play all day for £15 ... Can't recommend it enough fundy defo worth a go if ur 15-20mins away. I'm 30mins away and prepared to become a member and my course is a decent enogh track but this place hammered it for me IMO

The wind was bad here in the north west !! Am down for the comp tomorrow and supposed to be playing Sunday with ColinT and FFTD , but the forecast is shocking ... fingers crossed it'll be ok !!

Gets a bit noisy when there's a meeting on at Silverstone.

Fundy - yeah can do buddy we can sort something out, i'd defo be interested in playing there again.

Imurg - that's true and they were testing some cars at the race track and when you play one set of 9 (called the Grand prix course funnily enough) it's really only noticeable. I'm not too fussed cos my track is next to a man road running thru Northampton and that's worse lol
