I have had a few lessons and the pro was increasing the shoulder turn. Now I have an extra 15-20 yards on my shots - the only problem is I am now hitting some big pulls.
Last night one managed to end up 2 fairways across!!

Any ideas on what to try out to fix this? Lesson is booked but I can not get one till next Thursday :D

On the flip side I went into a green with a SW in lieu of a 6 Iron and another with a LW in liew of a 8 Iron.

As I said I have lesson booked She is away for a few days.

I think my swing is quite rounded at the bottom, ~I.E. travelling around me - I am tempted to move the ball position a bit ~ only think is I may just end up in trouble.

Try it man, its not going to kill you. Nothing better than solving a problem on your own. If your really scared it'll nob things up, lay 2 clubs on the ground to line up, one infront of your toes and another outside your ball and have a third pointing to where your original ball position was so you can always come back to it. From this grid reference you can alternate with different ball positions - further forward for higher shots, further back for low ones. Have some fun on the practise ground varying the shots you play - you'll be fine.

I sometimes pull the ball because of my right heal.

Turns out that the trigger for my downswing has always been to lift my right heal - don't ask why!!

As such I lift my body up & forwards thus leading to me hitting around myself to get at the ball!

Kind of the opposite of all the old fellas you see on the course who lean back and slice the ball away from them selves.

Don't know if thats of any use to you?

Ken, this is my trouble shot too. Often it is a case of the arms being too active and poor rotation of the body.
When you reach the top of the backswing you need to initiate the downswing with the body (not the arms). Get some leg drive (not too much slide though) a good rotation in the hips so you clear the left side coming into impact. The arms follow the body motion, if you lead with the arms you'll be 'over the top/casting/chopping wood' -whatever you wat to call it - club is on outside to in path, if clubface is square or closed ball goes way LEFT.
A general feeling of slowing your swing down will help you find this better tempo amd timimg.

I have been starting my downswing with a 'tug' on the club then legs - I think I will have a few tries at starting with the feet up again.

Thanks :D

Do you think because you gained extra yards that you some times try to hit the ball hader for fear of loosing them?

Are your pulls generaly on long par 5's when you need a good long one from the tee?

Birdieman beat me to it, I was going to say pulls come when your arms are swinging faster than your body is rotating.

I suffer with this now more than the slice, because i am confident in my technique, i sometimes speed it up for extra yards, and if i my back is stiff my body wont rotate as fast as i want it too, therefore the arms over take it, the club head arrives early, its closed and it goes left.

Again birdieman has beat me too it, try to slow your swing down by a fraction and you should sync the arms and body.
