Things were going so well. Mid way through a series of lessons, had overcome the initial (significant) backward step and was now sorting my swing out, gaining distance and perfecting a controllable draw. Was practicing and playing 2-3 times a week and just submitted my first handicap card. Short game was improving too.

Then, got struck down with some sort of flu virus and since the weekend can barely lift a cup of tea. Have no energy and ache all over. Suppose by the time I get back on the course I will have forgotten all the progress I made.

Had hoped to do my cards within a week or so and start playing in the club comps.

Hope summer isn't over by the time I recover. Back to the docs for more tests next week. :(

Yup Missis T had her probs, just about got over them and then got a virus, she was coughing her head off for six weeks. She felt drained.
re golf putt yer feet up and read a few books, the things you have been taught will come flooding back. Don't be surprised if after a break you " smash it".

Or you could be rubbish as you said:whoo:

Get well soon.

Sorry mate you missed it this year. It was two weeks ago!

Perspective needed - you're out for a couple of weeks, I've been out since 2010/11 and no sign of being able to play for at least another 2 years due to frozen left shoulder/surgery but after that reasonably successful surgery last autumn the right shoulder has now decided to follow the same painful immobilised route as the left! Frustrated doesn't come close!

Amazing what gets in the way of golf. Our daughter went over on her ankle a couple of weeks ago & broke it in three places. Trying to recover, she put weight on the other & broke that one too. She came out of hospital yesterday & took up residence in our conservatory, her house is too small to live & sleep downstairs. I've got a full program of opens and competitions over the next few weeks. Hoping a team effort on the part of the family will allow me to play in most of them.

Sorry to hear that. Frustrating when you're having lessons and trying hard to move your game over. I've had a health scare myself not so long ago which has pegged back as much golf as I'd like but I'm trying to enjoy each game. Hard to do at the moment as I'm playing pants, but hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. Work on what you've learned at the range, get on the course and get out and enjoy yourself. At least it should be a short term lay-off
