We got zilch on the first attempt - haved just tried again and all i mean all that's left was volleyball (not beach!!!)at £ 55 per person - no not the final and football a three hour drive away....

HID has badgered me into putting in for something but this has been so badly run - couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery springs to mind and it's still a year away.

No one wants the Olympics - Athletics is dead in this country.

The only people who wanted the Olympics was the politians and they regret that now.

The area that's going to be re-generated is Stratford. That's like trying to give Ghandi the kiss of life!

I've no time for the whole Olympic event but tell me exactly how they could have done the ticket thing any differently?

Everyone wants the blue riband events - hence the demand was massive and people missed out. Fact of life. Demand exceeds supply. And so everyone who can't go to exactly what they wants starts bitching about it.

If every event is sold out then surely it is a ticketing success?

ticketing success - maybe, but not difficult to achieve if half the world want tickets.

the losers are the real fans and the sports, as always - it's like the cup final being sold out to corporate accounts - and not a true fan in sight

I managed to get one evening of the athletics which include the ladies 100m semi finals and finals, the mens 400m semi's, the 800m hepthalon and mens long jump final - result!

Happy for you, but would rather stay at home and staple my testicles to a bench. Each to their own I guess. I'll be having more fun though.

Friend of mine, went for the cycling, boxing, gymnastics and table tennis. Just find out he has got £80 worth of table tennis tickets. I offered to lend him my binoculars so he could see the ball. :D

Well Murph, unless you can staple them better or faster than anyone in the world I will stick with the Olympics if you dont mind!

Jeez, can someone tell this to my family? When I'm not golfing or working, I spend my life trackside.

Usually eating doughnuts too.... :)

Well after round1 didnt get me any Preliminary round table tennis, this time i went for womens hockey, womens basketball, and syncho swimming ;)

Didn't get any and not bothered this time.

I do think they couldn't win the way it was done, some folk are always going to miss out and i can't think of any other way to run the ballot.

Quite chuffed really, I applied for 4 tickets for Gold medal Football finals night at Wembley and got them first time!

Worked out quite well Sister got Track finals night tickets too couple nights before so gonna make a few days of it. Lucky got family in Londonshire too so not a problem for digs..
Just need to start saving for the £20 burger & drink meal deal at Wembley.

Still waiting to see if I got a marshalling job at the rowing otherwise its the TV for me. Tried to get tickets and had more chance of shooting a level par round. Even the things like hockey that I have a vague interest in were sold out

I only got two tickets for the badminton.

The way that this has been managed has been a mess. It has created a false demand by causing a panic about not getting anything at all.
Many people have bid for much more than they ever wanted in the hope of getting something and as they were caught up in the panic and hype.

Lots of people have got tickets they probably didn't want or ones that cost more than they really planned to spend. The system also punishes people who only got 1-2 tickets for a minor event, during the first ballot as we cannot bid for anymore tickets where as people who missed out can now try to bid for many more tickets on a first come, first served basis.

just think the golf courses shall be empty when its on.

piece on sky news today, 'the world according to Seb Coe' "once they've 'tested' the venues there will/might/could be a further million tickets released for sale in UK"

What upsets me is that they said before the second round that there were lots of tickets left. There might be if you want to pay loads and take your kids without getting any childrens reduction.
I have tickets to the freestyle wrestling. My boy, aged 8, thinks that 'the Rock' will win it! I did try to tell him......that Giant Haystacks was much better that the Rock.

Everyone is saying that the ballot was not the way to do it, however many don't seem to realise that EVERY olympic ticketing is done like this the world over. It's just that the British are so sport mad that the demand completely outweighed the amount of tickets available. I can understand people not being happy, but as I say it is the same no matter where the olympics are being held, the ticketing system is always the same.
