On another note similar to haplesshackers ''charge for trying clubs''

I was in Missouri USA on holiday recently and thought I would try and get a round of golf in.
The good lady was all for me going, when she suddenly says will they have a buggy, yes i say, oh I come with you then.
Thats OK she occasionally walks round with me so no problem.
Any way I get to the clubhouse, i find out the price for the round and to hire a set of clubs, I'm about to buy some balls when i see a sign that says $14 for riders in buggies. I asked the guy behind the counter is that right and he say's yes.
Well needless to say I wasn't going to pay extra for someone just to ride in my buggy so I left without playing.
The whole thing was over $110......there loss.

I like it :D :D

I'm actually tied in with a time share company who have destinations all over the world. I'm a great fan of the USA and Missouri sounded different.
Stayed in a one bedroom condo (top quality) in a place called Branson, which is the capital for entertainment in middle America with about 50 live theatres. Not everyone's cup of tea, but we had a great time canoeing and horseback riding, you know the things you dont normally do at home.

Whilst out there we drove into Kansas to a town called Baxter Springs (on the old Route 66) went into a huge leather shop which had a closing down sale on. anyway got talking to the shop assistant and she was telling us that the shop was closing down due to the economy, 3/4 of the shops in the main street where already closed, you could see the place dying.

One thing we found funny was a women riding a horse into the town. Oh Baxter Springs is where Hale Irwin was born, how is that for a piece of useless information.

I was on hols in the US a couple of weeks ago. Went to play a round of golf at the local course with my wife and son.

3 greenfees, two buggies and 3 sets of hire clubs - $80 (approx £55)..... My mum rode in the buggy for free - so she could watch my son playing.

The only real drawback was that in my bag of clubs there were not any two clubss from the same manufacturer. the driver was circa 1980......

But it was a nice course and still a fun afternoon.
