Played in greensomes last week and whilst having a quick look online to refresh the memory if the rules came as cross the format BLOODSOMES!!!! This means who you playing against pick the ball you have to play the rest of the hole with. Seems like a fun format. Anyone played this.

I think the OP is talking about a format where both tee off then the other side picks the ball you then play the rest of the hole with, presumably the worst one. Not an official format of golf but might be fun especially if there are a few beverages consumed along the way.

I remember one year our club had a team match where the team got an extra stableford point if both members downed a measure on a green. Most teams didn't start drinking until the back nine, so scores on the front nine were what you would normally expect, but on the back nine they started to diverge wildly. Someone won the competition by downing 5 or 6 measures on the 18th.

Yeah this is what I was think. This format along with alcohol equals messy

Although bordering on dangerous, the drinking one sounds fun. I know a few people who could win on that format and they dont even play golf.

I have heard of this but under the name Grusomes

Played this a few times in 'friendly' matches, although we call it Gruesomes. You can smash your drive down the fairway, but then have to play your second shot from the middle of the trees, very good test of a friendship!
