I went out at 7 tonight to try and get a quick round in before sundown, was playing fantastic, was 2 over par through 13 and it was too difficult to see so I had to call it a day before I even got to mu favourite stretch of holes! Gutted!

Around half 9-quarter to 10 Homer, I probably would've made if it wasn't for a couple of slow fellas who weren't up for letting me through

Makes it worse then. I assume a request was made? Shame that people just don't have a shred of common sense and no doubt the course was clear ahead. Just enjoy the fact you got 13 holes in and played well

I went out tonight - likely after you came off the course - hit my first tee shot at 10.08pm - played five holes carrying just three clubs - was two over fours for them - came off the course at 10.36 and could probably have played a couple more holes. It wasn't as dark as it appears in the picture. Exactly what I needed after getting too technical at the range - when you only have a choice between an 8 iron and a 5 wood it speeds up club selection an awful lot

I couldn't make out the ball 100 yards in front of me by my last hole

I had a spare ball in my pocket in case I hit one in the deep rough as I doubt I'd have found it - creamed a couple of five woods and could see ball flight all the way till it landed each time - empty course, nice temperature, wonderful skies, closing the face on an eight iron to hit it thirty yards further than I normally do - loved it, exactly what I needed.

Marking my mates card for his hcp a few weeks ago...managed to finish 17 holes! Teed off on the 18th and neither of us had a clue where the balls went due to darkness.

Bit of a waste of time but funny now.

Ahem. I think the ICC handicap committee might just need to have a little meeting ;).

Totally agree about the blasted light! This time of year I often wake up very early, even though we've got a blackout blind and thick curtains. Often go out at 3am, and are off the course before the Green's staff turn up.

I finished at 9.30 last night having teed off at 6.30. Mind you I did play about 26 holes in random order, I was just jumping round holes to stop being held up, playing the same hole twice or ever three times. I think in the end I was only about 6 over par if you took my best scores on every hole, ignoring the fact I played some holes 3 times;)

Went out at 8.15 last night, played 12 holes at leisurely pace, in shirt sleeves, and wandered off at 10.20. I could have played on for another 20 minutes, I reckon, but the midgies were eating me alive. Was +4 for the 12 holes having left 3 birdie putts short, right in the jaws of the hole. Greens were very shaggy by that time of day.

Millionaire's golf. Glorious.

You can play till nearly 10 i'd say down here in Herts, If the course was clear you could do 18 teeing off at 7 but not if you had to wait about at all.

Sunset is officially 10.01pm here - but it's light enough to play at least seven holes after that if you don't get held up and you go quickly. I reckon I could have teed off at 8 last night and got eighteen in well before it got too dark to play if it was clear in front here (wouldn't take more than 2 and a half hours to scoot round carrying a few clubs) - would be tempted to do that tonight to see if it's possible but it's due to rain in the late evening so will probably be a fair bit darker than last night

I am never fussed on chasing around the course to beat the light. I just play at a leisurely pace until the light goes down.

unless I was in a comp, I don't see the point! just hit more approaches into the holes you do play. same amount of golf, less running!
