Don't know much about the club, or the reasons for it folding, but from their FaceBook page, it seemed positive after an EGM in September, but has now closed down.

Played there a few times in opens and in team matches , the course was usually kept in good condition, but was never my favourite course.
But the members always made you really welcome , even the Buckfast Neds offered to sell you your own ball back at a good price. [ wur ye playin a Pro V wan Pal ??] was the norm.

They had lost a lot of members in recent years, and last I heard was that they were looking to reduce it to a 9 hole course in a bid to cut costs.
Hopefully the closure is temporary whilst they make the changes.

Unfortunately it seems the closure is not temporary, and the club itself is closing. Sad to see, but sadly a common in the present economic landscape.
I hope the members find warm welcomes at neighboring clubs.
