I played Blackmoor yesterday as a guest of richart along with snelly and chrisd. Many of you are familiar with the course so no great need to write a comprehensive review other than to say it was in great condition despite all the recent rain. Greens are still very good, running true and still quite pacey for the time of year. No holdups which was nice so we were able to get round in decent time and although it was a bit murky first thing, turned into a beautiful crisp winter day.

Thanks to the other three for a cracking day, good banter, good stories and some good golf as well. I believe Chris was last seen heading in the direction of the nearest gym to beef up so he can outdrive the 'young' guns next time :D

Love the picturesque and tricky little 9th and the approach to and slopes on the 18th green. Also once got into the right hand bunker on the 12th and couldn't get out - literally - after about 20 goes I just chucked it out. One day soon I hope to get my own back on that blighter of a bunker. Lovely track - and only 20mins drive from home.

9th - Drive4Show stiffed a 9 iron to 4 feet in a 20 mph crosswind there yesterday. A beautiful shot that converted into a birdie.

It was a very nice days golf. Great fun in first class company.

I see D4S is up to his usual tricks. Last time we played hayling he was spraying it everywhere!! On one occasion he even missed the centre of the fairway by 5 feet!!!!

Where's the fun in that!!!?? ;)

You could've knocked me over with a feather on the 16th - he missed the fairway by about 20 feet for the first time in the round! #metronome!

I was really happy to be invited to play a lovely course in super condition with great company. Only a 200 mile round trip - or just the distance of a few drives off the tee by Snelly and Drive4show who wern't quite the gentlemen that Richart was, in spanking the ball past this old codger, as often as possible. Drive4show was unerringly accurate with both tee shots and GIR's and Snelly has a swing to purchase off Ebay if it's ever on "buy it now" that just left us other two to show what handicap golf is all about.

I had the touch of a rather large elephant on and around the greens and was embarrassed that I know the others will be saying " if he wants to get to single figures there's a holiday upgrade in it for some poor teaching pro" Richard was, as always, a perfect host and I thank him for the invite.

For what it's worth D4S, I got to the gym last night but didn't have enough strength to pull the door open!
