From what I can remember the bloke was not selling holidays but was simply asking a few quite interesting questions that myself and other forum members enjoyed answering and has posted a few times since then.

Where do people get the idea that online communities are good for "one post advertising"?

Should be a rule (as with EVERY other forum I'm on) that allows you only to reply (not START) a thread until 25 posts or similar.
