Thinking of sinking some money into bitcoin and forgetting about it for a year?

anyone done this? how do you actually go about it ?

Whatever you do, don't even think about forgetting about them or you'll end up like the poor sod in Newport who forgot and threw away his hard drive with four million quids worth on it. It's now under thousands of tons of rubbish down the dump.
 
It's not worth it as the market is so fragile. Unless you're going to get £15k worth of computing equipment to mine them.

Don't forget about them though! Always back up the wallet file and keep a note ON PAPER of all the bit ion codes.
 
I looked a couple of years back but felt uncomfortable in buying something that had no base (hard) value. As they've been a bit volatile in the last year I'm glad I didn't take the plunge.

No never played with them, look a while ago and decided not for me, much to my lost profits as such.
 
Good time to get in now while low.

Downloading Coinbase on your phone and storing them on that is your easiest option for a basic “HODL”.
 
Only if you have steel guts and money that you can lose.. mine are down about 80% across the crypto portfolio..
