Birmingham Golf

Myself & a mate are going to the Belfry for a custom fitting in June & are looking for a course to play on the Friday (custom fitting & Forest of Arden on the Thursday), we are staying on Broad Street and need to be at the airport for 5pm so looking for somewhere fairly close, although we will have a car.

Possibly looking at Kings Norton which is £40 for a day ticket & we should easily be able to get in the full 27 holes.

Anyone got any feedback on Kings Norton or other suggestions that won't break the bank?

Copt Heath is near airport, good track well worth a visit
Olton also close and again well worth a visit

Maxstoke Park is 2 minutes from the Forest of Arden,10 minutes from Birmingham airport.Its a great test of golf with some of the best greens in the midlands.

The Warwickshire courses are amazing mate and can sometimes be picked up fairly cheap at times...(teeofftimes.com)

its not too far from Bham airport either

Looks like it could be a tricky choice some nice looking courses, fancy Beau Desert as well but the green fees might be a bit high

I'd put Kings Norton in the cheap and cheerful bracket, though it's a few years since i played it on a society day. The Warwickshire I played last year and was a very good test.

Kings Norton certainly not a cheap & cheerful option & IMO a far better option than The Warwickshire which, whenever I have been there, is soulless and packed out with corporate hackers.
