Looking at sorting a game out at 1 of these courses. These are a good couple of courses. Have played them a few times before.

Blue Mountain is owned by Crown for any members of them.

I know Homer and HTL are available on this day.

Anyone up for it?

Given the choice I'd go to Downshire, Birds Hill and Blue Mountain in that order. That said Blue Mountain is probably a better test than Birds Hill but I've had "issues" with slow play int he past which has probably tainted my opinion.

Not fussed where we play. Just let me know where and what time.

I'll be honest. I did a bit of a recce on Downshire the other day and I was shocking, hit more trees than I did fairways. 111 in the end.

My game totally left me. Couldn't hit anything all day. I played on Friday. Still on mats on all holes.

The course was still pretty wet under foot.

Having played Blue Mountain and Downshire, I'd prefer to play Downshire as it is more of a test than its counterpart. I find Blue mountain a bit too open at times, having hit my drive onto the far side of the 9th fairway from the 1st tee and proceeded to make birdie due to having no trees in my line to the green.

That said I haven't get played Blue Mountain in the summer yet, and only play it due to not having to pay anything, thanks to my best friend working there on saturday's and sunday's.

Anyway, I would be interested in playing in this if you would allow a 16 year old to play? Due to me still being on school holiday.

At the end of the day, if we were just a 4 (mattdeeks, liam_austin and HTL) you could wander over to Ascot for a game. I don't really like Blue Mountain for much the same reason as LA in that you can spray it about fairly liberally and get away with it.

I'm surprised Downshire was still so wet as it is predominantly sandy soil over there. I'm guessing now that we are officially heading towards summer that the mats will go pretty soon. Birds Hill is a decent track. Not particularly tough but an honest course with smallish greens that means you have to think about the aproach shots.

I'm off that day regardless so happy to play any of the places mentioned. I'll leave it up to others to decide and I'll go with thhe flow

Midweek its £25 per head. I was at Downshire tonight and defintely no mats. Fairways have been cut and contoured and it looked in good knick.

Like I said I'm off that day so i'll go with the consensus and more than happy to sign members in if necessary.

I would be happy with playing Ascot. Have you got Ascot branded ball markers, I've got a bit of a ball marker collection. They didn't have any at Downshire the other day so need to go back eventually!

HTL what would you prefer? You've had a crack at both.

If Ascot is £25 and we are off the whites, that will be the best test of our Golf. If you have already played the Downshire, lets go and invade Ascot.

Fancy a return fixture at Leatherhead on the 25th, HID is away Fri + Sat so looking for a weekend of Golf.

I wish I could play 2 days in a row. The Mrs would throw a wobbly. With the arrival of our little boy last month, I'm not going to push it. I've played more since his birth than I had expected so I've been lucky so far.

Just a quick possibility as I have just been told that I now am back in school on the wednesday, stupid year 11.

Could this be switched to the friday before?, the 17th I think?, or perhaps we could arrange a separate forum meeting at my golf club, Puttenham golf club, however I would have no idea how to set this up, so if you didnt mind Homer could you give me a hand?

Just to throw a curve ball into the mix, Guildford golf club or the Surrey National are part of the 2 FORE 1 offer, we could use this.

They are both suppose to be ace...........

Up to you guys but the 24th is the only day I can get off so its up to you. Liam I'm sure we can sort something out at your place, maybe in a few weeks time (I know HTL doesn't work Fridays and I can get some flexi time accrued).

I'll leave it up to you guys to decide where and when

Okay well I leave school on the 8th of May, but then obviously i've got exams until the 11th of June then im free for the rest of the summer with nothing to do apart from playing golf, my kind of heaven.

But if you draw up a list of dates you can possibly do, then I can find whether I can make them, due to exams and revision classes etc... I have no problem in fitting in golf during this time as I would be doing it anyway.

Liam,

HTL doesn't work most Fridays and it is a good day for me usually so you come bac with free Fridays once you get timetables/exam schedules etc and we can work around you. I may be able to get other days off but will need a bit of notice so basically you give us the free dates and we'll see whats what. I'm sure we can always get together at weekends if necessary.
