Had a round at the club today with a couple of mates and I scored 5 on the 1st which is a 453yd/par4 they both scored 6's much to my amusement as I got the usual "more jam than Hartly's" jibs, so there I was stood on the 2nd tee contemplating what club to use when 1 of em decided to challenge me "bet you can't complete it with 1 club, start to finish" now me personally I like a challenge so asked them to choose the club which they eagerly did and a 5 iron was handed to me with wry smiles on their faces so I'm now facing a 339yd/par3 off the yellows, into a strong wind, with only a 5 iron as my friend and I was to "tee off 1st" and tee off I did closely followed by that pair of "eejutts" anyway to cut a long story short I find myself on the green in 3 and finished up with a 2 putt for a 5 again (I seem to like the number 5) and what did they finish up with well one got his obligatory 6 and tother well let's just say "one for every day of the week" my lips are still numb from all the "raspberry blowing" that ensued and I've now got a new nick name "billy 1 club" hehe !...:thup:

I took a "3 wood" of the tee last Friday driving down wind and ended up 15yds short of the green and had to apologise to the group in front for nearly hitting them as when I got down there they were just walking onto the green and I'd deliberately left the driver in the bag because of the wind as well, it's flows down hill slightly and with a bit of help from the wind and a good measure of roll you'll see the green in one on a real good day !...:thup:

Haha must eat my words matey as it's a par4, don't know why I got it into my head it's a par3 !...

A mate shot his handicap around Leven using only my 5-iron once - beating me by 1 on the day! He'd forgotten he'd taken his clubs (and Tennis and Badminton racqut and Hurley out of his boot after some cars were broken into in his neighbourhood!

I once saw a club pro shoot -1 gross round 9 with just a 5 iron
