We bought our daughter a bike for Xmas and I need to get some lights for it.

Any recommendations? I had a look on Ebay but I cant tell the good from the naff ones.

I used to ride quite a lot, and my view is more lights are better than less. Arm bands are good, they provide sideways warning. A good flasher out front, and back, and maybe a decent head torch.

That said, she will view lights as naff, want to dress head to foot in trendy black, shoot traffic lights, and wonder why motorists are trying to kill her?

Cheers Murph. I should add that she wont be using the bike just yet on the main roads just our close and when we go out to the local parks, woods, etc.

The lights are more to see where we are going as much as making ourselves more visible. Lights that can switch from permanently on to flashing sounds ideal but I don't really have much of an idea what to buy. Loads of them on Ebay:confused:

The cateye lights are very good, try www.ribblecycles.co.uk they are very good to deal with.

My lad who cycles nearly everyday says the more lights the better...
He looks like a mobile X'mas tree, as he approaches, when visiting...
Some good bargains to be had when Aldi/Lidl have a cycling promotion on...
Or 7dayshop.com usually have a good selection at reasonable prices...

Smart lunar 35 front light and smart half watt rear.

As an everyday commuter of 35 miles and having bought probably dozens of lights over the years you'll not beat these for VFM.

Available from amazon.
