After all the talk of golf's big three they have been rather timid in the majors so far. Only Spieth at the Masters making a challenge.

Can the notion of the Big Three now be binned for the moment?

I assume your referring to Day, McIlroy and Spieth.

Day has one major, Rory has not won a major since 2014 and Spieth looks to have gone right off the boil since blowing up in the masters.
DJ looks capable of winning most weeks so he would be part of that club now and after Henrik's win today you would hope that he can kick on and become a major contender every time.
Too many oher good players capable of winning majors so cannot see them dominating the way Nicklaus,Palmer and Player did in the 60s/70s.

I said this a few months ago. The big two, Rory and Speith became the big three because Mr Day crashed the party.
Dont know if it was lazy journalism or what but I think most golfers saw through that "big two/ three thing".
for what it is worth i have seen some fantastic golf in the last couple of majors, Willet, Stenson and Mickleson have played some excellent golf. Rory in this and Speith in the last major promised but the depth of talent out there deserves better than focusing on 2 or three players.
It is getting to the stage where end of season mags will be writing " what happened to the promised big two/three in 2016, where did it go wrong".

Rory is not in the top three.......

I still think those three are the most talented and if all their games were on they would be out in front. The problem for them is that none of them have the consistency to continually perform at the top of their game.

Spieth seems to have lot his ball striker since chasing extra distance, day has had a spectacular year in pga events so wouldn't write him off just yet. Rory just needs a putting coach. He seems to miss so many putts his game is almost like Lee Westwoods....
