Just here watching JD in Harbourtown.....
Im slowly starting to admire his new attitude with what he's been through in his life......I know he may not win much and he has ruffled a few feathers along the way but pound for pound he's as entertaining as anyone...He's balls out on every shot.
Even his clothes are growing on me.... He'll give poults a run for his money one of the days......
Imagine those to out in a two ball you'd think you were watching a re run of austin powers

And has anybody noticed the size of the grips on his clubs....There massive!

Used to be a huge fan, lost a lot of love for him over the years.

Not really sure why tbh. I started to read his book and got bored of hearing about McDonalds and Jack Daniels. Guess I'm getting old and realise that alot of those stories are sad really.

I did find it funny to hear he was drinking upwards of 30 cans of diet coke when he stopped either drinking or smoking.

I love the man,a talent who should have made more of himself.

I watched a fair bit of him when he won The Open and god he was impressive.

Love the 20 packs of M&M's a round stories....and the fella is not just long off the tee...

I've been watching the current TV series 'Being John Daly'...pretty interesting insight into his life, worth watching.

Dodger, he had a gastric band fittes before Xmas and he has ost half his weight. Golf needs more characters and he does thrill the fans.

Totally agree 100%, golf is or has become boring without these characters, everything is so mechanical and processed.

Big John is the Man!

I don't care if he plays good or bad golf - he's there and the fans love him.
Anyone see him on the beeb at Augusta flogging his merchandise from his camper in a car park down the road?
Quality!

He's quality, like him a lot. I don't agree with gastric bands and bypasses, but at least he paid for his, as opposed to those getting a pie-restricter fitted on the NHS...but I digress. Oh, and 30 cans of diet coke?! That is seriously bad for someone with anxiety issues like him!

But as far as the golf goes - when he first burst onto the scene it was awesome. Watching his massive drives compared to everyone else. They may have caught up with him these days, but he still has a deft touch around the greens, and I was loving it many moons ago when he won The Open at St Andrews. I remember me and my junior mates trying out massive, fast out of control swings off the tee after watching that - with very unpredictable results!

To sum up - John Daly = a bit of a loose cannon, but a great contribution to the world of golf.

He's come out with some great quotes over the years...

Grip it 'n rip it

Caffeine + nicotine = protein

Bubba and Alvaro may have cought up with him in driving distance but JD was the original Wild Thing, long may we continue to see him on tour.

the Gazza of the golfing world!! A huge talent that never reached its potential, but I still like to watch him play, he has very good touch round the green as well as being a bomber!! :D

Yep, we need a few more womanising, swearing, spitting, club throwing characters to make the game more interesting.

Oh, hang on a minute. We heard about one of those recently, what was his name again.......? ;)

one of my favourite moments watching the scottish open over the years at loch lomond was almost being hit by a drive of his on the 16th.

I think he is great and enjoyed tracking his progress when he did the stint over in europe last season

The commentators were mentioning last night that he doesn't look happy anymore and the few bits I saw of him last night, he looked far from happy.

Could just have been one of those days or just the times the camera were on him, but is he happy? is he enjoying his golf??

I think he's under pressure from the USPGA to behave or be booted out (possibly for good) and he seems so constrained. I'd love to see him find a bit of forma nd come over to Europe where perhaps he can be allowed to be more of the person he wants to be (maybe on and off the course)

You're right, he certainly doesn't look happy at all.
Sometimes it's like watching a punch-drunk old boxer that you can't help but feel sorry for. I'd definitely like to see him win something again.
