The one that caught my eye was:

"One unconventional practice could be to allow music on the course – a call echoed by Greg Norman, who recently said buggies should have loud speakers that can play music."

Really?

might seem distracting to begin with but I think it could actually help relax... stone cold silence can breed tension IMO

suppose it depends on the music- death metal could not have a good affect on me :-D

Please no. One of the things I like about golf is that it gets you away from the noise of everyday life, I don't want the tranquility ruined by music blaring out all over the course.

Totally agree I love the noise of the birds in summer trees rustling with wildlife, couldn't think of anything worse! Spoiling tranquility what next night rave golf with glow sticks ha

Big no to music on teh course. Played with Rick at Centurion, and Vinny Jones was playing behind us. He had loud music blarring from his buggy, but for some reason none of us fancied telling him what he could do with it.

Not every course is a scene of peace and tranquility.

I would love loud music sometimes at our place, it could drown out the swearing and shouting coming from the housing estate that runs along one side of the course or the motorbikes that are ridden around the woods on another side. 😃

While playing one of the Portuguese courses this year, a couple of holes ran quite close to a hotel. While playing the 1st we had the soundtrack of their outdoor aerobics session. By the time we got to the 18th they had changed to become a blue and soul band.

The 1st was fun. We had a bit of a workout while waiting for the group in front.

On the 18th it was very relaxed :-)

Not for me.

I'm a sound engineer (live and recorded) and theatre technician. Spend my life in loud, musical environments. Being out on the golf course is one of the quietest moments I get during the week!

Whilst I don't like the idea of blaring music over the course, from buggies or wherever, part of me likes the idea of something quiet and serene in the buggy. Something like Classic FM (without the annoying adverts!)

Although ll things considered, I don't use a buggy either.. so its moot point from me :D
