Last Saturday started a 2 round comp (2nd round was yeasterday). Starting handicap was 7.3 exact. 1st round was Stableford and shot a lovely 39 pts which put me 2nd by 1 point and got me cut to 6.7. A nice split of 38/38 for the gross 76.

Yesterdays round was medal and then you take off your stableford points from your nett medal score to give you as low a total as possible (36 being level h/c for the 2 rounds). Shot gross 72 nett 65 (CSS 72) so thats a 1.4 cut down to 5.3 !! Havnt had comfirmation of the result but thats a secondary issue to me really

Was quite nervous going into the 2nd round but as soon as I stepped on the 1st tee a lovely calmness came over me and the golf just flowed. Out in 2 under with 3 birdies but lost a ball on the 11th for a double bogey. Finished with a birdie to wrap it up nicely. Hit 15 GIR and tbh left a few shots out there. Didnt do anything crazy either like chipping in or draining long putts.

Really lookinig forward to the rest of the competitive year as I feel theres some better golf to come yet.

cheers Jammy

Fantastic stuff

Does this mean the 3W is behaving itself ?

A cut of 2 in a week from where you started out is unbelievably good golf. I wish I could cut my handicap by 27% in a week :(

Hugest congrats

Thanks CH , I used the 3-wood twice off the tee and twice off the fairway all day. Tee shots were spot on but one of the fairway shots was low left (ok cos it was par 5 though).

Been working really hard on the Fw wood shots on the practice ground (said I would so I did ;)). I now feel semi-competent again with these.

I see you had a good round at Chartham the other day. I think you've been misleading us on your real ability ;) lol
