Having just retaken up the game after 20 years (previously played off 3) I've bought new sticks.

I bought a big bertha driver, x2 hot 3 wood and hybrids.

I love the x2 hot 3 wood and hybrids.

I have no reason not to like the big bertha driver. I hit it long (bit left and right). Its light and pings off the face.

Trouble is (and again forgive me for not having played for so long) I just look down at that big shiny frying pan and feel like im about to wrestle an alligator. The x2 hot may not be but it looks smaller and i prefer the matt finish. Also it has a draw bias which I like.

I know the big bertha has all the change gismos but really ? I aint that good

Should I change - any comments appreciated chaps.

I hit both at the recent Callaway KoD event. I found the X2Hot to feel very light, such that I lost the feel of where the club face was. The BB had no such problem and therefore gave me more confidence in the swing.

My 2c anyway.

I'm using the Big Bertha Alpha and it looks just lovely behind the ball, still a 460cc head but shaped nicely

Hah! I preferred the X2Hot and it gave me better numbers too.

BB felt too muted for me, while the X2Hot really did ping off the face.

Just shows - different strokes....

I tried both and the x2 hot was head and shoulders better (for me) both visibly in terms of ball flight and distance and also according to the trackman.

ps Actually after some googlin the x hot pro (not x2) looks nice - coments please

have a look at the Xhot 2Deep, effectively what you'd know as a 2wood, so basically you get the head size (250cc) from a bygone era rather than the current oversized 460cc ones. Whilst not quite as long as the driver they are not far off it

also tried them both at KoD and had better results from the X2. Would rcommend trying them both with a fitter to select the best and have it set up correctly
