What a round by Mahan

I think he has just made his way onto the Ryder Cup team with this win (providing he plays the 18th like he has the other 17)

He seems like a genuine nice guy, and ive only ever thought of him as a bit of a joker after his golf boys vids, but wow he has played amazing tonight

Well done Hunter...if he brings this form to the RC , providing TW picks him, he will be tough to beat

....as long as he erases that duffed chip from his last appearance at the RC

EDIT - way right off the tee on 18!!! have i spoke too soon?

I think you're probably right, and he will be picked.

but....

A man who can't hit a green with a PW when the chips aren't really down is going to be a real tough cookie !!

In all seriousness, I think that duff will be there for us when we need it. Let's hope we don't, but it's nice to have it in the bank.

Serious colly-wobbles but putting got him through!

Great to see Ernie happy with the short (and it is short - no belly) stick too!

Thats true

But he's also a player who has only had to make putts of 6ft, 2ft, 4ft , 10ft, 3ft for birdies today, as well as other putts over 20+ft made for birdie in his round

The guys clearly playing great golf and if picked he will pose a threat to opponents if his ball striking is as good as today

I met him after The Open last year - top bloke. I've been a little surprised over the last couple of months that his name hasn't been in the reckoning at all given some of the others being considered (I'd have him over Bradley) - looks like he's in now. Agree though that he did have a major wobble missing the green with that wedge.

Delighted for Mahan his first win on tour for just over 2 years.

I love his swing and would buy it if I could. My favourite swing on tour, I really love watching Hunters swing. For anyone interested there's a great uploaded video on you tube of his practice round at pebble beach, lasts 18 minutes and is fantastic to watch.
