Seniors Monday Stableford, we're off a tee with water in front, trees 80yds on the left and a lone tall tree 40yds on the right. First off tops his shot in to the water, second man is OK and I step up. My shot soars away, hits the tree and comes back on a reciprocal path (for the technically challenged, it pinged straight back towards me) to land on the front of the tee box. Fourth man goes OK. First fella hits a provisional....which soars away, hits the tree and pings back to land five yards behind my ball!
(The happy ending for me was that I creamed my second shot to 10ft of the pin and put it down for a par)

Can't quite match that but many, many years ago on a corporate day at Leatherhead GC.....

Very windy day, nearest the pin comp on 18th 195yds par 3, pulled tee shot 30 yds right, hit large tree and rebounded towards the green but just short.

Very surprised at prize giving that due to the conditions no one had hit the green so the organisers had changed it to "nearest the green" comp. Guess who...

2nd shot, 16th at "La Moye" - Jersey. Sliced the hell out of my second shot, it went miles and trickled up between the legs of some guy putting on the 18th green, 6" from the cup.
Oddly, I left it there.

a few years ago me and three friends played sedgefield gc in county durham i think its the 13th short par 3 with water on the right i hit first onto the green the other two also hit theres well onto the green but my friend lee played last and duly drowned his ball played three off the tee and holed it for an unlikely par.incredable it was.ian mc

Playing medal at my last club, coming down the last with a decent score, hit a decent drive down the middle, and then hooked my second (5 iron). It pinged off the roof of the club house, back in bounds to about 30 yards from the green. Up and down for a 4 to finish. Sweet.

My first ever round of golf, hacking it around St Andrews (oh how you are going to hate this) alternating hooks and slices, second or third shot back on the tee stuff. Short par 3, massive slice - it's travelling at right angles - hits a rock and ends up 6 inch from the pin. Even I couldn't miss the birdie. Exactly double-par for the round!

Only this monday i played my local short course, 5th hole is a 160 yarder par 3, bunkers in front, OB to left and few tree's to right. Hit a sweet 7 iron but the wind really got hold of it and blew it way way right, was thinkin it was headin for the 6th tee the wind was so strong but when it came down it smashed into a tree, fell down on to a white post holding up rope around the summer tees and shot left about 30 ft landing on the green 10 ft from the hole. Missed the birdby but made par!

last year my drive landed on my mates ball and knocked his about 20 yards sideways into a lake. as he is a beginner we told him he had to take a penalty drop and waited until afterwards to tell him there was no penalty-nice people that we are!
