Hi,

Could anybody please suggest the best Youtube golf coaching instruction sites?

There seems to be lots out there - spoilt for choice!

Thanks for any advice

I find "Mark Crossfield" is usually quite informative and his short videos of the matches he plays against his mates at various different courses can be bloody hilarious !...

Me and My Golf for drills and Peter Finch for basic common sense are the best ones in my opinion. I prefer Rick Shiels when he is doing club reviews to instruction and Crossfield used to be good, but nowadays he tends to do more specific fixes for specific swing faults. Which is fine if you have that specific swing fault, but if you don't his advice could make things worse. But he has a decent back catalogue to get stuck into, so to speak.

Finch and Shiels for me every time. Kit reviews and instruction is not just informative but fun to watch also. The fact that I enjoy their YouTube channel is a big thing for me as I do not find myself getting bored watching them.

I did like Crossfield, but as he got more popular he got too far up his own arse and comes across as a pretensions tit, even though away from the camera he might be a really nice bloke.

i tell you someone who does have some good videos online, Bob MacArthur, AKA BobMac. They might not be as fancy as the others, but some of his drills are very good.

Thanks for these speedy and very helpful replies - much appreciated.

I have been trying to improve my tennis for the past few years, and have learnt as much from youtube sites as paying for lessons - they have worked well in combination.

In general the 'physical' instructors just don't seem to convey the depth of knowledge; but they can see what you are actually doing.

For some reason I have not done this with golf, which I suspect has been a daft mistake.

I notice the same names being repeated above, so suspect I wont go wrong with those.

Thanks - and for any other comments.

For Instruction got to be Chris Ryan, the others are Ok but more for entertainment. Is me, but watching Rick Shiels hit hooks and pushes when testing new clubs, is annoying

The best teacher about golf (and also life) on you tube, by an absolute country mile, is Bruce Brian Billings.

No one else comes close:thup:

No need to thank me

Bang on. His slicing video is pretty much me he's talking about. Unbelievably helpful videos. *thumbs*

Agree on Robinsymes golf - used to watch a load of crossfield but not so much any more.

A good site for fundamentals and swing sequence is Pete Styles. He has a series of sequences so you can really build a swing from scratch.

Ref me and my golf. I can tell you for a stone cold fact, they are two of the nicest blokes you could meet. They were the pros at my local range (three hammers) and i believe piers was junior pro at oxley park. Had quite a few lessons with piers at the time, top blokes the pair of em.

Often overlooked that pair and their approach is very similar to instructional series of mags like GM and others. Straight forward, consistent and the vlogs are funny too. Wee bit more to it I think than what they offer, but as a generic tips and tricks channel they hit the nail.

An american guy called Shawn Clement caught my eye a few months ago for just straight forward no nonsense advice. More about body mechanics than anything else. https://www.youtube.com/user/clemshaw/videos
