So as the title says what the best wind assisted shot you have ever played. I was out yesterday in a fair breeze and came to the par 4 250yd 3rd. So wind was difficult to judge and it is quite tight so thought I would play safe and hit a 4 iron off the tee.

So I hit it straight, which is unusual for me generally , and it flies down the middle. So I thought don't need to see where it lands and off I march. Stop at about 160, no ball. Got to 170, no ball. Thinking this is odd go to 180, no ball. Go to one 190, still no ball. The hole doglegs to the left at 200 yds so I get to the dog leg and there just past it is my ball. So I figure I got a good 30+ yard advantage from the wind.

So be honest what has been your best be it distance or shot shape where the wind has helped.

In the rough, wind right to left, hit an 8 iron straight into the wind and it grabbed hold of it and placed my ball 6 feet from a tricky pin.

1 in a hundred effort.

A 350 yard drive that left me a 9 iron to to a Par 5 green. Knocked it to 3 feet and sank the Eagle with a shot for about a million points

215 yard from the white, usually slightly into the wind. Played it a few months ago when the wind had flipped, and from just in front of the yellows it was 190 to the middle. I'd hit about 3 shots with wind behind already that day and seen them fly over the greens, so decided to hit nine iron and reached front edge of the green.

Have been known to hit driver into this green when the wind goes the other way and have come up short on many occasions !

Lots of big ones.

370yrd drives, 195yrd 9-irons.... and some putts that have blown right off greens

Of course on the flip side, into the wind I've hit 170yrd drives and 5-irons from 120yds that have come up short :(

Last sunday in Glen of the Downs golf club , place playing like a links , 1st hole is a par 3 downhill all the way , strong wind directly behind .. hammered a closed Pitching wedge (hadnt got my 9) ..

that was the good shot tho .. ended up in bunker pin high , after a ok(ish) bunker shot & 3 putts on fast bumpy greens , double bogey start to a scratch cup is not nice

Hole 11 552 yards at flamborough head gc played with a cross wind hit 4 iron 6 iron into 8 feet an made eagle won the 4bbb open comp that day with my dad shooting 53 points

Played Carnoustie in a gale, par 3 16th 240 yards hit a 6i through the green. 18th was playing 445 yards, 3w off the tee came up about 10 yards short of the burn leaving a lob wedge to the green. The 17th in the opposite direction was a different story though, driver 3 wood and a 5 iron into the par 4 green

Best wind assisted at my old club was Par 5, 9th hole drive was about 340yards left me an 8 iron to green. Same day though 3 holes later on the Par 5, 12th going back into that wind I hit driver, 3wood, 3 wood and a 30yard pitch!

Last night Wind at my club on the 2nd straight down wind which is odd is usually into the teeth of it I hit half a 60degree into the green, usually going Into that with a 6iron!
