A few years ago I stood in for a mate on a golf weekend, when he couldn't go. Played Prestwick, then Turnberry, then Troon. Can anyone beat that, apart from the privileged in GM Towers?
Still not told SWMBO how much the trip cost, which included staying at the Turnberry Hotel. Daren't.

Played Stoke Park , Dukes at Woburn , Berkshire , Marquess at Woburn then the West Course at Wentworth in one week

Was in heaven

That's some week. A few of us having a night away next week. Playing Ealing Tuesday afternoon, then Wednesday Dukes in the morning and Marquess in the afternoon. Handicaps in our group range from touring pro to 24.

What did you think of Woburn?

The courses at Woburn are stunning - Dukes especially - the flowers are starting bloom and the course is really taking shape. Enjoy the 3rd on the Dukes - cracking par thee and make sure you are below the hole :D

Say hello to the Fox who will be around the 6th and the deer are really coming out

The greens are starting to firm up and the fairways lush

You are playing the best two

The club house is a bit much

Gleneagles== Kings and Queens then Siloth on the way home.

It wasn't a weekend, but a week working in Fife for Visit Scotland and go an invite to play; the old, new and jubilee by an R&A member all free too. Next was a club match V's Western Gailes that too was all free apart from the booze;)

And i can't wait mate.

Nice to hear the positive reviews of Woburn. Will be by far the best course I have played. And no doubt toughest test.

My best trip has to be Carne, Enniscrone, Rosses Point, Donegal, both Rosapennas and both Ballyliffins in 6 days. Completely knackered at the end of it but you can't beat a week of links golf :)

Woburn is stunning, although I'm really not keen on the Dukes. The Marquess is awesome, and the Duchess is very tree-lined and very tight.

If you've sorted your accommodation, then no problem, but if not, or you can cancel, then The White House B&B is wonderful. In Little Brickhill, 2 minutes from Woburn, and it does a great breakfast! Not many rooms, so depending how many people you've got, then it may not be do-able, but it's really great. Also, a nice pub/Italian restaurant in the village.

Enjoy Woburn... I'm very jealous!

This week has got even better for me. I never met my Grandad as he passed away before I was born. In his honour his golf club introduced a new cup, the Frank Pilbeam Cup. On sunday I played in and won the Frank Pilbeam Cup, with a net 65 (4 under handicap). Now just about to set off to Ealing, with Woburn tomorrow!

Had a bit of a Links fest a while ago.

Played Royal Liverpool on the Friday, Carnoustie and The Old Course Saturday, Summer Open at Craigielaw on Sunday, Birkdale on the way back down on Monday.

A few trips:

St Andrews Old, St Andrews New, St Andrews Jubilee, Crail

Hillside, Southport & Ainsdale, Formby, Royal Birkdale

Saunton East, Saunton West, Burham & Berrow

Delamere, Formby, St Annes Old, Royal Lytham

Two great trips to St Andrews:

Ladybank, New Course and the Old Course

Jubilee, Castle, Old, Eden and Carnoustie,

Also has some good trips to Saunton, Burnham and Berrow, Saunton East, West and Royal North Devon. Would like to include East Devon and Ilfracombe on the next trip.

Had a lovely jaunt with 9 mates last year...
Royal County Down, both courses at Lough Erne, Portrush and Portstewart.
And it didn't rain at all while we were playing!
