Just got back from playing my best ever round of Golf, my club is only 9 holes and a par of 35, I shot 45 today and am over the moon. I had 3, 3 putts, one 8 on a par 4, lost one ball, 1 birdie and 3 pars.

My 8 iron today was behaving so well, I creamed 2 shots 160 yards onto the green with ease, cant wait to get back out on Monday. Spending tomorrow working on my putting.

considdering the 3 putts that wasn't too bad a round..

Is it distance control or judging breaks that is the problem, or was it just pure bad luck & lipouts.

So what caused the 8 & the lost ball & were they on the same holes or differnt holes. If you know this you can knock off a few more shots next time. How was your chipping on the 8

Yeah seems quite a positive round overall to me, even with 10 over over 9 holes.

I'll be popping out for a round in a bit now the rain has eased off & its brightening up will just about have time to get in 9 holes too before getting ready for Cropredy.

The 3 putts were me not reading the greens properly and then rushing them for no reason.

The lost ball was just a poor shot, I looked up and pulled the ball right into a massive bush. The 8 was on this hole.

I wanted to get down to a 18 handicap round before I go back to work, I have 3 weeks left.

Can't play today as a/ it is raining, and b/ the tee is booked from 9 - 10.30, 10.35 - 12.45, 13.00 - 14.25, 14.30 - 15.45 for societies. This means I can't play til 16.00, and the course will be mobbed by idiots who only play once a year, so a 6 hour round is on. Grr.

Same next Friday too (but I won't be there so I don't care).

I still can't believe that we (a members course) take society bookings such that the members can't get on over an entire day. This will mean that for various reasons (all booking availability) I will only be able to play 1 Friday out of 5, when I finish work at 13.30. This sucks.

with that backlog I think 6 hours is optimistic!

can't believe anyone would book that many societies in in one go.
