Hi all
Just thought I'd share with you my best score to date and the 1st time I have broken 90 :D, played with hubby and another couple today, weather was great, abit windy but sunny.
scored 47 on the front 9 as follows:
bogie, bogie, par, bogie, d bogie, par, d bogie, d. bogie, bogie
scored 42 on the back 9:
par, t bogie, bogie, par, par, d bogie, par, par, bogie
total score: 89 gross, nett 58
The course is par 72.
I have put my card in and I'm hoping I can do this again for our club championship on the weekend of the 30th August.
Needless to say I am very, very pleased with myself. I know a lot had to do with the company I was with and feeling relaxed
Who else has had a good round this weekend.

Barb,

Excellent news. Was it just a friendly (I presume you are trying to get cut on a general play card). Just keep focussed and treat the club champs as just another round and do what you did today and just relax. A lot of the field will play themselves out of the event by focussing on the fact that it is the champs so if you can stay chilled you may even knick the handicap prize!!!!

Great shooting and keep up the good work

Congratulations- onwards and upwards from here I feel- once you've done it once it becomes much easier.

Or in a golfing sense should that be onwards and downwards! Either way well done on your score and good luck with the club champs.

Great stuff Barb. I had my best round for quite some time too on saturday. I shot an 85 at Sandhill Golf Club. One hole i even lost a ball, hit a cover ball, chipped that to within a foot of the pin and sank the putt for a 5. One of those days when things just seem to come together nicely. Now if i can get the driver to work again :D

Thanks Barb. It has let me down a bit this weekend but i'm determined to get on top of it. I have to say the big improvement in my scores has some from improving my short game. I'm 10 times the player I was from inside 50yds and it shows on the card. The best advice i can give to anyone is stop chasing distance and practice your short game!

Good on ye, girl!
Breaking 90 is a real breakthrough. I have done it a few times but seem to be on a plateau right now of around 94. Annoying as I feel my golf is actually more consistent than it has ever been, but our course has just changed (9 new holes) so was pleased to do a 94 in last week's medal. Still, the new layout is actually 'easier' (ssi 69) so I need to start getting lower.
Best of luck for the comp!
