i currently have an odyssey 2 ball putter and a titleist 975J VS driver and i am looking to change them both!! I havent long left junior golf and my putter is now too short and my driver has seen better days so if ne1 has any suggestions for wha i can replace them with i would be very grateful
cheers

ok in my humble opinion the cobra f speed driver is the best at the moment and a reasonable price too, as for the putter the ping g5i craz-e is so steady and perfectly weighted makes it a great club i think it retails for about £100, good luck keep us informed!!!

Does / did the Odessey work for you? get another one. Does the driver work for you? Why not keep it. A Driver that behaves itself is worth its weight in gold! I changed drivers last year to have the latest all singing all dancing driver and my game has gone to pot! Don't be in too much of a hurry to change!

i totally agree it does not matter what make or condition the clubs are in if they work keep hold of them, we are put under immense pressure too buy shiny new models every new season, think where your'e game is at just now!!!

Interestingly, in an independent test by which? magazine, they found that a cobra driver was the most forgiving and the callaways and pings a bit longer.

If you are keen to get new toys, it's going to be hard to better what you already have. Then again if your putter is too short, go get another...sure. Wouldn't know which one though....although I'd like a Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 Detour Putter, mmm tasty....but pricey!!

I echo the comments re if you like the equipment you currently have then look to get them modified to your build. Don't change for the sake of change...

cheers guys, ye the putter does work for me but it is well short so i am thinkin of getting the shaft lengthend and jus stickin with it advisable?

however with the driver it isnt really behavin itself and hasnt been for a while, and also it is illegal now due to the trampoline face, i am thinking of a taylormade r7 draw ne1 got one?

If its not broke, don't fix it. If it is a wee bit short .... get the shaft plugged and lengthened or reshafted.

The Cobra F Speed LD is a bit like Cheryll Tweedy .... Looks amazing, feels hot and gives you length ;) but you can't bin it just cos it sounds like a dog in a bin bag.

The oddyssey 2 ball is the best putter around in my eyes but putting is so individual.

As for the driver I use a Cobra F-Speed. Why you ask? I paid £99 for it a discountgolfstore.co.uk and can hit it straight to 300 yards so why pay more?

Madandra is right though about the LD, it does sound awful but hey it could be worse couldn't it Mr Nike!?!

The best driver I ever had was when I was learning the game, a Forgan Rocket, for its time (15 years ago) it had a massive head and a nice shaft, cheap, but nice. I practiced with it and played with it until I managed to make the face begin to seperate from the rest of the head of the club. I hit it miles and the only club that compares is my latest driver, the srixon w506, its not got an ott noise on impact and doesnt have these silly weights that some come with (I mean come on, if you really thing moving a little weight will sort you out.... learn to hit what you have got, not vice versa). Putter wise, The putter I had most success with was my old Isopur, since giving the game up 7 years ago (then taking it back up last year) I bought a scotty Cameron, its probably a better putter but because my handicap has risen compared to when I had the ping it was in sharp decline, I can't help but pine for my old putter back.

Realgolferuk,

I am going to the range tomorrow night, it is owned by centregolf (discountgolfstore.co.uk), I will ask if they have a regular there or if not, sandy who works there's dad is the Cobra rep so could see what can be sorted if you keenly want one of these.

Let me know,
Jon
