Best Man's Speech sweep

My sister's getting married this weekend and I've been asked to do the sweep on the length of the best man's speech. Anyone done this before? I've taken part in it before at other weddings but can't remember if it's done for the full minute or broken down in 30 seconds slots as in 21mins-21mins 30 and then 21mins 31-22mins.

Its a regular thing in my circle of friends, we actually do all 3 (typically) speeches, from the chink of the first glass (or whatever is used to gain attention) to the best man sitting down. We always pick minute and seconds, and closest to it wins.
