I am looking to buy a budget GPS that will just give me basic information when I don't have line of sight to the green.

Can anybody recommend one to me? I dont want to pay more than £100

Can you get many under 100 quid ? Would suggest a second hand one or an app on a smart phone if you have one

I dont trust the apps we had 2 samsung S3's next to each other with the same app reading 10 yards different and then we checked against a bushnell and which proved them both quite a way out

I might be selling a Skycaddie SG2.5 shortly & it still has 1 & 1/2 years subsrciption on it worth approx £45. Skycaddie say you can't transfer the membership but what you can do is change the profile name, e-mail, address & password so in theory you can. PM me if you are interested.

I have a GolfPlus Caddy-Lite.

I got the 'Deluxe' set-up - with water shield, charger, etc. But if you have a USB/standard phone connection, then the Solo (at £84) is all you need - USB cable may actually be included.

They are not waterproof though - merely 'resistant'. couple of usability niggles, but no more than with SkyCaddie that I've also had.

I've got the mars 100 from go planet, it's a cracking unit that has served me well for just over two season,

Google brings them app at between £95-£119, mine is still as new with box and will be going soon for the bargain price of £50 as I have a laser on route. Let me know if your interested,

Garmin. I've got one and reckon it has saved me a few shots each round. Simple to work and does what it claims.

I have had the Garmin G3 since Xmas 2013 and it's a good no nonsense bit of kit. Ref aps my playing partner uses swing by swing which costs about £10 per year and he's never had any issues with distance measurement generally being within a few yards of my Garmin.

If you get the Garmin make sure you get some good rechargeables and keep two sets spare.
