Hi all
I was looking at buying a new golf towel and I find most are tri-fold types. My current tri-fold hangs of the trolley and annoyingly, especially as I dont do anything about it for a couple of holes picks up water dirt and all sorts rendering the first four inches or so useles.

So, question is, if anyone knows, why are most golf towels tri-fold, and what works best ,micro-fibre or standard cotton type and what is, if any the ultimate size or shape towel?

Cheers, Fade

Just got the FJ rain kit which is a micro fibre towel and matching gloves. It's biggest feature is for drying wet grips so I wouldn't use it in standard conditions

I've bought off the shelf before based purely on size and colour.

Big mistake :o

April Fools posts must be before midday to be valid.

Yes, I thought this was an April Fool too, until I saw the time it was posted. Does it really matter? Any old piece of towel or cloth will do, because you are only going to use it to wipe mud off your clubs and (golf) balls!

Ikea, £1 each

Talking of towels.. Why do the cool cat1s have their large towels hung over their clubs when the rest of us clip them onto our bags?
Will it improve my ball striking if I do the same?

Saying that... Theres that much dried mud on my Ping Towel it'd be sat on there horizontal like a Christmas Cracker :(

I was at the senior open and bought a pristine brilliant white birkdale towel.

It looked fantastic just sitting there all gleaming, shining, glinting and shimmering.

It doesn't now.

If your current towel is either dragging in the mud or catching in your trolley wheels, then it is clear that you have the wrong towel for your trolley or that the towel is attached to the trolley at the wrong anchor point. or you have the wrong trolley for your towel.

Do you hire a trolley? If so dont be tight, buy yourself one that works with your towel

But be sure to get a properly fitted towel/trolley combo

on a side note, I see that one of our members, Drive4Show is selling imitation Sunningdale Towels at a very decent price:thup:

What is The Historic Position for ones towel on their golf bag?
I am sure that an optimum fixing positon that is to be adhered to by "proper" golfers exists
