I Love a good poll

The conclusive who is the best overall club manufacturer thread. Come on who are you really a secret fanboy of ?

I have got to say that mine is Titleist. For me they make the best looking clubs and they offer a decent range of clubs to suit different players. They have a 2 year product cycle which is near impossible to find in other main manufacturers so you don’t feel as if your clubs are going to be outdated in 5 months time.

I really like the marketing and promotional videos they put out. Gives it sort of a community “Titleist feel” when you are using their products. Additionally they seem to support a lot of young amateur players which can only be a good thing for the game and tours.

Only negative I can think of is the price, especially for Scotty’s.

The main thing is that simply put – I think they make the best clubs.

Well I cant really say anything but Cobra. I don't know what it is but I just really love their gear, think they are at a great price point, their woods are phenomenal and their irons are as good as anything on the market, just look at that new King Ltd gear.

Do you mean best designer or which clubs are made to the highest specifications? If the former, could be anyone depending on preference. If the latter, probably one of the Japanese specialist manufacturers.

My favourite make, which is a different question again, is Titleist for woods, Mizuno for irons, Titleist or Callaway for wedges and Scotty Cameron or Bettinardi for putters. .

Has to be Mizuno purely on their irons. Seeing huge improvements on their woods and wedges which is great for the consumer.

I doubt I would swap to another manufacturer for my irons now. If I did then they would have to be ridiculously impressive!

All the big brands plus a select range from the second tier, don't forget the Orka-likes plus Japanese brands....

Everyone of the above is capable of making a playable or a players club.

Don't forget budget brands, Dunlop and MD have also done good clubs along with Fazer and alike

I've used gear from all of the above in my time. I've voted Nike because over time they've best suited my game and their blurb has helped me select the product i want easily. . I've never been able to work out which clubs from Titleist or Mizuno are aimed at my level and having never had a fitting session i wouldn't know where to start with them.

Who makes the best clubs! The answer is the ones that suit you best. I have an TM R15 driver, and an Odyssey putter. My best friend is a Dunlop Hybrid which cost £10.50

Very subjective. I voted Ping as I use them and like them. Too many variables for me. Mizzy or Titleist make some of the best looking clubs to my eye, TM have some long (cranked) irons and Vokey make the best looking wedges

I voted Ping as they have (IMO) historically been pioneers of;
Anser style heal/toe weighted putter
'Oversize' woods
Cavity back irons
Custom fitting

Others have come up with
Taylor Made - Metal woods and adjustable clubs
Wilson - Decent graphite shafts

I appreciate that there must be other major developments.......

I have always liked the look of Titleist irons, never owned a set, but it doesn't stop me admiring them.
My current irons (Taylormade RS1's) are the best irons for me.
Out of all the sets I have owned over the years, I can honestly say that I have never hit a ball better than with these.
Sure I can still duff one, and do... regularly.
But when I cream one, they are absolutely superb.
But I'm not going to claim that TM are the best club manufacturers.

Titleist for me, great poll by the way, a bit of harmless fun that has received the usual negative response. Of course they all make good clubs but it does not stop you having one brand that you would happily play over the others and if I had to have a one brand bag it would be titleist as they make great woods, irons, wedges and putters, simple. The AP2's have been an absolute game changer for me and have ever felt so confident in my iron play after going through i20's, cg16's, MP67 and 58, cobra s3 pros and Adams a12 pros.

I really like the look of Mizuno stuff but couldn't afford to get a set

I'd love to see what brands such as Mizuno & Titleist are capable of knocking out if the were told the RRP for a set of irons would be half the current (or perhaps they'd then just be another Callaway/TM/Cobra & its just budgets that mean they knock out really nice looking gear)

Thanks Tiger Man
Just a bit of harmless fun :)
would have been good to do one for each category (Drivers, irons, Wedges etc..) but that would take a bit too much effort.
