Ive got an asda voucher so im gunna buy it from there and im looking for nothing over 150quid.

Anyone have any recommendations, like which one has the best video footage for viewing all parts of the swing, slow motion etc. My current cameras video capacity is quite poor quality and cnt really cope with a golf swings speed

ASDA Link

I've got a bog standard Fuji Finepix F60 camera which shoots good enough quality video for my needs. I can donload the footage into V1 of Grasp software to analyse it or into youtube if I want to give the forum members a good laugh and show them my swing. It's a middle of the road camera and I'm sure for £150 you'll find something that does the job

Its worth considering how much room you have to work with. My camera's lens is fine for recording my swing in my garden where I have lots of room but at the range its a different matter; the back wall is too close to allow the camera the angle required to fit all of my swing in.

Having just bought a Casio (Ex-FH100 for £200 less £50 cashback) and finally got to use it for the first time today, I couldnt recommend it enough.

The key function you need is for the camera to record at a high frames per second (fps). The casio works all the way upto 1000fps though found the 120fps ideal for videoing a swing and then watching back in slow motion.

I will upload some videos when I can work out how to!

Just checked on Asda and the one Ive got is £291 on there :(

I recommend Casio, with the Exilim high speed cameras also.

The only problem was I couldn't see any of the high speed video models on on the Asda site, although maybe they have some in store?

I bought the missus a Kodak Zi3 playsport for Christmas.
It does 1080p if you want and/or 720p at 60 fps.
Ought to be great for golf swing vids, but it'll be a while before I can confirm.
£97, also from ASDA.

How much memory did you end up using today?

I'm not an expert, but if the slow mo's on youtube are anything to go by, yes.

I've got a Canon Powershot SX1 IS camera. Apart from 10 megapixel pictures it also shoots movies in HD. Got my wife to take some footage of me last summer when I took up the game again. Really clear and very good for analysing swing faults. My camera is about a year old and I know there are plenty of cameras on the market now doing much the same thing but at about half the price I paid for mine.

Only about 800Mb and think I ended up with about 30 slow mo vids of 10 seconds or so, capacity clearly not going to be a problem and battery still almost full (dont know why i thought it was running down)

Anyone tried the Casio FS-10

FS-10

Does the 1000fps same as the Casio FH-100 but is only £110.

Seriously thinking about this now, or the FH-100. I've been using my iPhone for the last few months with V1 and while it's been really useful, 30fps is just a bit too slow.

I managed to pick up the FH-100 for 140 + 7 postage off ebay. I think if you stick at it the most could probably get a similar deal.
Not sure the FS-10 will deliver the same results and the Optical zoom is a lot more limited which makes it less versatile. I'm sure you can get some good images and results from it but if you can get the FH for a good price it will be worth the extra few quid.
Having said that I think I saw a 2nd hand FS-10 go for about 45 - 50 on ebay the other day.

I think it depends on what you want to use it for. If you just want it for recording you're swing I think the FS-10 will be good enough, and if you can nab them for £45-50 then that's fantastic. If you search youtube for FS-10 and golf there are some slow-mo swing vids posted which look pretty good.

If you want it for general use as well the FH-100 looks like a better choice. Again especially if you can pick em up for £140.

I have another compact and a good digital SLR, so this is just for recording my swing.
