worst is Robbie savage. he talks through his rectum!

+1

Worst:- Alan Smith (boring), Trevor Brooking (boring and non-insightful, all I heard was white noise when he spoke), Trevor Francis, Mark Lawrenson, Iain Wright (tries to make up for everything by being over-passionate and loud), writing for the sun is his level.

Best:- Neville (so far), Souness (says it how it is), Ruud Gullitt and no soft spot for ex-Chelsea and Man U players, but do like Ray Wilkins.

Must be just me that think Riley is thrush

Into the same category goes Mersin , Monty, Townsend

Best - Brown , Allis , Grady , Bumble.

Good: Gary Neville, Thierry Henry, Matt Le Tissier, Souness

Awful ones: Hansen, Savage, Faldo, Lawrenson, Carragher (because I can't understand him), Johnny Giles

Worst - Paul Merson - By an absolute country mile. Being too stupid to pronounce peoples names properly isn't charming or lovable.

Best - Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have been a revelation together.

Agree on Neville and Carra - the banter between them has been great and both provide the best insight into the game

Best. Lineaker, Riley, Alliss, Shearer, Gower, Botham,

Worst. Roe (awful), Carragher (can't understand a word) Owen, Townsend

Best ....... Boycott is not bad , talks sense , Gower and Lineker .

Worst ...................anyone that keeps saying ..... YOU KNOW , do I not like that word .........YOU KNOW

Best- Jamie Redknapp - even writes his own columns instead of having them ghost-written. Mike Atherton, a real professional. Gary Lineker - has become a decent presenter which is a heck of a lot harder than most people realise.
Analysts - Best - John Lynch and Brian Billick (Fox Sports), Gary Neville, Michael Vaughn.
Worst - Boycott, all he does is second-guess the whole time. Robbie Savage, just totally up his own backside.

Iain Wright (tries to make up for everything by being over-passionate and loud), writing for the sun is his level.

For some strange reason, even though I mostly dislike the program with a passion, when I kind of accidentally listened to 6-0-6 with Ian Wright and Kelly Cates the other day I thought they were not bad. Certainly the best presenters since Danny Baker (although with 6-0-6 the bar is set pretty low) . I just thought Ian Wright mostly spoke some sense and challenged stupid callers, where as most other presenters just let them spout their inane drivel without saying anything.

If you are talking proper journalists then very few sportsmen have made that leap as there is a difference between being a pundit/presenter and a journalist. For those that have I'd say Mike Atherton and Matthew Syed are amongst the best.
