yeah that could be one of my choices didnt know it had a low profile head,i tend to only get my 3 wood going left to right off the deck which aint controllable, i liking the more wacky head shapes as well

Have to say when I was in the market for a new 3 wood I didn't really consider the Cleveland as I had bought the driver specifically as it was what I was looking for shape wise, spec wise, performance wise and the deal I got was pretty good.

As a result I dismissed them initially and tried the G10 (great from the tee but I couldn't hit it from the deck), Burner (rubbish off the tee and floor), Benross (not great visually - to my eye anyway but was functional) and the Callaway X (not as good as I expected off the tee and couldn't hit it off the mat).

The assistant gave me the Cleveland to try and as I said wasn't convinced. However the ball flight was really good - nice and low and penertrating and it has a small face so sits great off the mat/fairway. I don't tend to hit 3 woods on the course (have never been that confident) but after a great drive down one of the par 5's thought I'd give it a go and it went perfectly to within 20 yards of the green.

These are my views on some of the main woods on the market. It maybe that my swing was the reason I couldn't hit some and others will tell you that xx is better. As always I can only recommend hitting some on a range and seeing how they feel

A 3 wood should make you feel safe and confident when you pull it from the bag and look down at it.

I am assuming that you liked the look or you wouldnt have bought it so I would say keep the head(they are awesome looking I think) and get yourself fitted for a new shaft.

No need to get silly with puring etc unless you are flush but a new quality shaft fitted by your pro would save a few quid. You might even get something back on your old shaft to offset the cost.

Taylor made R7.

Its my "go to" club when driver is misfiring and brilliant from the deck. Shallow head inspires confidence from the deck

Looking at your kit again it seems your shafts are similar flex to what I used to use (flighted rifle 6.5's,X stiff Fujikura etc.) and I tried one of those Proto shafts with not much success.

It felt too light and I didnt like it much, perhaps try something heavier?

This gets my vote - I got my 3 wood second hand and hunted about to buy a 5 wood as I love them so much. My woods where always poor - now my 3&5 woods can be the best clubs in the bag. I use these off the tee when struggling - I can hit the 3 wood off the deck 220 yards on our 17 (very slight downhill - only hole I seem to measure my 3 wood), on most par 5's I am only a 10-40 yards off the greens on my second. But the real beauty is that I get the same off the tee and I am very consistant with my 'ladies' :D.

I tried loads of clubs when buying. The R7 Steel was my fav - I dont know If it will suit you but I love them.

As for the G10 - nice enough club but my friend always struggles to get his from tight lies - I never struggled with it too much - I simply prefere the R7.

For me it all depends on whether you like the look of the head. I still use the head from the original Cleveland Launcher,it must be 6 years old at least.

The only other heads I have liked as much are the last 2 Titleist's.

If it looks good to you then dont waste cash on another.

I used a BB heavenwood the other week, wow, what a club!

I have a 2i cleveland halo, that is amazing but the shaft is too stiff for me!

You cant go wrong with the titleist woods. B.I.L uses one, (not sure of model, is just quality everytime, tee or deck!

Why dont you check out the equipment guide on the main site!

Cant talk about 3 wood as i dont carry one-however i do use a 5 wood a MacGregor DX-to me this is a fantastic club, great off the deck or off the Tee on long par 3's or tight driving par 4's.

Sorry i did not get teh 3 wood at the ssame time-picked the 5 wood up as a bargain for €50 in Premier Golf in Ballymun Dublin. When back recently but no 3 woods in stock.

I tried a fair few recentlty but specifically wanted one for hitting off the deck as I am pretty confident with my driver and my course does not have many holes that would warrant a 3 wood off the tee. I ended up with the Burner 3 wood but it was a really close call between that and the Adams Ovation II. Burner only won because it was bit longer but since then Adams have released the A3 and that too looks a good club. Would also suggest that you look at the Mactec NVG2, great club and normally available at a bargain.
