Played in a corporate event today, round Henley golf club. Full allowance Stableford, best two scores to count on each hole. Teams of four.

What do people think a good score should be?

High 80's maybe creeping into the 90's but have heard of higher ( 99 and 106 )

I always think u need 92-94 in this format, to be in the mix
But personally believe 89 is decent
Anything less is pretty poor
4 decent handicap golfers, best 2 scoring, defo in the 90s is easy done

Me and 3 pals, recently won a best 3 from 4 stableford team open with 121pts
Handicaps, 1, 6, 9, 18

Low 90s is normally pretty much a winner in the ones I've experienced.

Unless there is an outrageous team who has a 'great day'!

It's actually quite a fun event as everyone is likely to contribute at some stage. It can be 'spiced up' by all scores counting on Par 3s for example. Only real issue is that 'proper golfers' tend to play of lower handicaps than those with 'Society' ones - simply because the society handicaps tend to have 'expected' scores around 36 points whereas that's a very good score off a 'proper' handicap!

We were 6th with 86, which we knew was ok, but a few short. There were four 87s, and then a bit of a gap to the winners. They were a 28, two 24s and a 9. They scooped both nearest the pins, the longest drive, and the first prize, with 97. Pretty much a clean sweep then.

It's always hard to trust those corporate HC - ten points clear does seem a little bit of a suspect gap but as long as you enjoy it

I would have thought 90 would have been a winning score on my own experiences. It does seem strange that a so called novice, another two mid-twenty's and a single figure guy can clean up but it wouldn't be the first time at these corporate days
