Well after another poor round last week, mainly with my driver, I got myself a lesson to see if I should give up with the dam thing and stick to my 3 wood.

Pro took two videos, one from back and one from the side.

From behind it all looked very good  (as well as a 20 H\C can look) but when I saw the side view, that was not good. Hands way behind the ball, head in-line or a tad in front and ball in centre of stance. :o

I couldn't believe how bad my set up was, so with some help from my pro I now have a proper set up, feels very strange but he got me back hitting the ball with confident within 20 mins.

So put it to the test today (he did tell me it would take 4-5 rounds to feel 100% with it) the first 5 holes I used the driver on were not to pretty but stuck with it, then on the 9th hole it all came together and was driving the ball the best I have for many a year

Shot 37 points and feeling good again.

Yes I know what you are all thinking, enjoy it while it lasts !! but I really do feel good now with driver in hand.

Cant wait for tomorrow :)

Just recently started lesson with a pro that has access to camera equipment. Amazing how much quicker I can understand what I'm being told to do when he can point it out to me at the time on the screen. Still got to try and keep it in the head though and avoid failling back to old ways.

Have to agree with the op.

I recently had a lesson with a pro who puts you on the video camera and shows you both from down the line and face on. It's amazing that you never feel like what your swing actually looks like. The comment he made was feeling different is good.
Suppose it is just continuing to keep doing "the different" thing until it becomes a habit.
Not always easy.
I have found myself watching the pros more on tv in terms of their swing etc rather than just she the ball goes. The super slow mo shots are really good on tv.

Had a lesson the other week, which the wife bought me for my birthday (slightly insulted), went in to it thinking they'll just be a few little tweaks as I'd been playing well for the last couple of months.

Hit a couple of balls on camera, all good solid connections & sat down to view my beautiful swing. Couldn't have been more horrified, it looked like a chimp with a stick, hunched over, swing was almost a figure of 8 from behind etc. The pro totally changed stance & setup, feels really odd, but after a couple of terrible rounds starting to come good

I took plunge last week and had a lesson, pretty poor set up and strike now being worked on, (been to range 6/9 days) played this morning it's getting there but more practice needed. Follow up lesson on Monday, wished it done it in April!
