Watching the seniors last night a it's much more enjoyable than the PGA bore fest, and can't but notice Langer's putting.
Looks to me like he is still anchoring, I know they say he takes the hand away from the body but it was sure still touching his shirt and it didn't look to me that there was an ounce of movement in the first place.
They said the penalty would be called by the player and not the ref's playing partners etc, being a major winner and an ex ryder cup captain I can't see anyone call him out.
Opinions?

Probably one of the most honest pro's on the circuit so on that basis no he is not anchoring.

This sounds a lot like the "he's not that type of player" remark trotted out after someone just got their leg broken...

It's smelly. I think everyone is hoping that he gets old and the problem goes away...

Slightly related, but I saw Webb Simpson was putting better this week with some sort of Kuchar style setup. It was so far up his arm, it must have been through his shoulder.

Most of the time he makes an obvious move on his stroke - sometimes he doesn't appear to do so as obviously.

Don't actually agree with the commentators observations at the time (was watching and cringing); in the old words of the rules ' it's a matter of fact' as to whether he is anchoring...

If the ruling bodies felt that there was appropriate evidence they would speak to the player in light of such evidence.

Really? I must have missed the groundswell of opinion hoping that Langer retires.

I am pretty certain Bernhard Langer put a lot of thought into this and made absolutely sure that what he does is not anchoring according to the new rules. That said, I think the new rules have been done in the worst possible way (exactly for this reason, that they are almost impossible to judge from the outside). Plus I think an anchoring ban was not needed at all (if it really were such a big unfair advantage, much more players would have putted that way).
