Hey Guys,

I noticed some Irons that I really like the look of and the price is also very reasonable but they are by a brand that I have never heard of "Benross". What do you guys make of these? Are they Hit or Miss so to speak??

Thanks
Doctor P.

Good kit for the price. Tried a driver of theirs last year and got some good results from it according to the flightscope thingy.

Benross are a great budget make using top quality components. I find the 5 wood I have the best option even against the better known competitors and had a Pure Red putter for quite a while as well. I would generally have no problem recommending them or MD (another great budget make) which ones are you looking at.

Not seen them yet, they are the newset model. I use a VX Proto 5 wood at the moment and that is a great club.

They and MD etc make top quality gear but can afford to knock it out cheaper as they don't advertise a great deal (if at all) and don't pay £000's in player endorsements and yet they often come near the top in gear tests and reviews.

Definitely worth a look. As a starter set I think its vital to try as many as you can and not be suckered into any one particular brand or model just because they are en vogue. There are plenty of 2nd hand bargains worth looking at too.

Because MD and Benross are usually cheaper than say Mizuno, Ping, TM etc you can get a full set for less cash and maybe invest in something else like a better putter or lessons

For a first set you cannot go far wrong, yes Mizuno are probably the better quality in the long run but will cost twice as much. Depends on what you are looking to spend.

So do you guys think they could be a good brand to look in to and considder when it comes to my "starter-set" of clubs or should I stick with my first choivce (Mizuno)??

As the others have said, they are one of the best low cost clubs with MD. I am a club snob so I would get a 2nd hand or old stock Mizzys over them but thats not because they are no good its cos I am a brand slut.

Benross = ford
Mizuno = BMW

It matters not anyhow as you have to try before you buy and the smart man would buy the ones he hits best.

Personally, I'd rather have a top of the range set of Benross than a bottom of the range set of Mizunos.
Just had a quick look at them and they don't seem a bad set of sticks at all.
;)

Benross = ford
Mizuno = BMW
Titleist = Mercedes s class
Ping = Bentley

Made the necessary change Alex

Chris

So have I, you knob
;)

hehe, I would rather have a BMW than a Merc and Bentleys are for Paris Hilton and Jordan!!

PS there are no bottom of the range Mizunos.

So when playing with Mizuno's dont play in the wet or you will end up in the trees :D

PS there are no bottom of the range Mizunos.

I'd hardly call MX100's "leading edge"

:o :o :o I did think about that when I wrote it, in there defence they had great reviews for SGIs, but ye, ill give you that, I would not want a set.
