Hi all ive booked to go to belek in turkey for next year im staying at the gloria verde golf resort and playing both the gloria oid and gloria new courses just wondered if anyone has been to the hotel?or played the courses?

Hi, I've been to Belek but not to that hotel or those courses.

Stayed at the Cornelia Diamond and played the Cornelia Faldo course and The National. Fantastic courses and hotels out there.

I can't see myself going back there though. For me, the longer flight and the comparative lack of varied nightlife puts it some way behind the central Algarve and the Costa del Sol for a golf trip.

I played one of the Gloria courses (can't recall which one) the first time I went to Belek a few years ago. Memories are now a bit hazy, but IIRC it was a reasonable course but nothing special. It also had some silly long distances between greens and tees - so be sure to get a buggy! There are plenty of other courses I prefer: Sultan, Montgomerie, Carya, Faldo, Pasha. Don't know why everyone rates the National - it always struck me as the scruffiest (and most up itself) of the courses in the area that I've played.

Once you've been to the Gloria hotel, let us all know whether you can get bacon at breakfast. So far the only hotel I've stayed at in Belek that has bacon is the Xanadu.

I am so jealous, I went to this resort in 2015, played the Gloria Old, New and Sultan. The courses are fantastic, depending how many days you are there I would recommend looking at the Sultan or Montgomery courses too. What time of year are you travelling?

We went early September 2015, and I would highly recommend arrange early tee times, the heat was well above 30 Degrees by 12pm. Buggies are a must also. You will have a fantastic time!
