Just wondering how many people have being hit by a golf ball during a round.
I recieved my first belt in the gut yesterday

been hit twice, both times it hit my golf bag (you see, carrying is good for you!)
Ive also hit two fellas, one at 20 yards with a 5 wood, he was standing way too close ahead and to the right of me, I was going through a massive draw phase, his leg looked like it needed stitching back on. The other fella was watching us play a par three, he was stood on the high side where most people would play to let the ball come round to the flag, full tilt but barely even left a mark. IIRC I made my par.

I was on the green ready to put. And it was a 3 handicap that had a hook off the tee.

Ps I carry too. Shush, I believe this is a unique group of people :-)

Anthony Kim hit someone in the last round (yesterday) at Bethesda. Who looks the opposite way when pros are driving down the fairway though?!

I have been hit in the side of the head by a full 6 iron from 150 yards. Made an incredible bong noise. Stung a bit too. It was hit by a vicar. Not that that makes a difference.

I have hit someone between the shoulder blades from 200 yards with a 5w (not easy). I have also hit someone who was lurking in the woods next to the green in camo gear. 'Why didn't you shout?', 'coz I didn't see you, idiot'.

My last track had a lot of cross overs, and as a result, guys were always getting hit. Needed to play with a helmet on most of the time.

I got hit in the railings by a ball full force in January. It knocked my two front teeth out and split my bottom lip. I still completed the round (this happened on the 6th) even though I was spitting blood and teeth for the next 3 holes. 'Wum med of hard stuff in Cradley mar mon!"

Top man. how did you score.

I'm lucky so far I've never been hit or hit anyone. But had a couple of close ones. Bag hit etc. Someone nailed the branch right next to my head and snapped it clean off, branch not head :-). Made a huge crack. Scared the living crap out of me.

I'm surprised more people don't get hit a my track either, there are a lot of mounds that run between the fairways and you just can't see if anyone is on the other side. Most of them are smack in 'slicers spots' to.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I had a chair shot out from under me while sitting on the veranda outside the club house.

Happy haveing a beer, when I turned sideways to see who was coming up the 18th. Lucky I did, as I caught a glimpse of something coming, ducked, and the next second the back of my chair got smashed to bits.

Come to think of it, I have never had an incident where someone has shouted fore. I think I must be going deaf. Either that, or no one shouts anymore.

I was hit was on our 15th green stood over a 30ft putt. A (wild) hook from the 17th tee hit me on the side of the bonce after thankfully bouncing first about 10 yards away. Thing was, I was 2 under gross at the time, I was on for my best round ever which very nearly turned into my last round ever !! Anyway, made the 2-putt and pars at the last 3 so maybe it helped take my mind off the nerves though I wouldn't recommend it.

I've been hit a few times, Most recently in my thigh. Once got hit in the head with someones 5 iron, He let go of it and i went flying across the tee box into me lol.

Nil so far, thankfully.

Did once slice a 5 wood off the tee that went between a fella's legs.

A few inches higher...

Anyway, after that I went home and got golf insurance!!!

A few years back a 3-ball had finished on the 6th green at my local and were walking away to the 7th tee when I hit a rather sliced 4-Iron towards them. I shouted fore but nobody moved and it hit this fella on the leg. It did apologise and asked why nobody acted on the fore call, and it turned out they were all deaf!!!! :o

I've had a few very close calls to being hit, balls landing within feet and zipping past me etc, and I've only ever hit someone once, and I was kind of glad really.

The fourball in front of me were the hackers from hell, all the gear no idea, they had hired buggies (the flattest course I've ever known) and were' driving them around like they were the Banana Splits, doing donuts, handbrake skids and generally being pests, and very slow players averaging approx 10 shots a hole. When I asked to go through, I was told F### Off and wait.

When I got to the 8th, which runs parrallel to the 9th which they were on playing back down towards me, I hooked a drive right towards the four of them who were stood next to a buggy. I did shout 'Fore left' , they turned around and to look and I smashed one of them right in the knackers. I almost collapsed with laughter quicker than he collapsed in pain. I did apologise, but had a huge smirk on my face for the rest of my round.

Oh, and they let me play through after I had scored, I mean accidentally hit them with my ball.

WTF? you do know that is a bedroom store.

I got hit last year playing our 3rd. Hit my 2nd and had just wiped my club and was putting it in t he bag when I got hit in the small of the back from the blokes drive. One bounce and whack. I went down like an Italian defender and couldn't move for several minutes. He merely sauntered up as I was on my knees and said "didn't think I could get there" even though it was the middle fo the fairway and not very far down. Good job I was struggling to move or I'd have inserted a 3 iron somewhere dark.

I opened it up on here at the time as to whether I'd have a claim (my back did seize up with the brising and I was off the next day) and whether I should report it to the committee. General consensus at the time was to perhaps write a letter (never did) but to make damn sure everyone knew about it on the QT

I hit my playing partner at 40 yards using my 3 wood. Clobbered his callf full smack - he had a bruse the size of a dinner plate for 2 weeks.
Horrid shot -if it hit bone it would have broken it without a doubt.

Hope never to do ity again, and hope it never happens to me.

Only time I've been hit was as a spectator at the Brit Masters at Forest of Arden a few years ago. The 11th is an uphill par 4 and the tee is 100 yards left of the 10th green. The players walked back with their drivers and the caddies went the other way.
I stood at about driving range outside the ropes. Jarmo Sandelin hit his drive and I saw it all the way. It was fading in my direction but I had my radar locked on to it. It was going to miss me until it bounced 10 yards in front of me and kicked - making a bee-line for the middle of my chest. Thump! I just couldn't get out of the way. (Un)Fortunately the ball finished up behind a tree. Jarmo's caddie gave me a glove and suggested that his boss wouldn't be too pleased when he saw his ball and that a swift walk in the other direction might be advisable. Apparently, having to chip out sideways and bogey the hole contributed to him missing the cut.
