Played at Bowood in Wiltshire yesterday on a corporate day, what a lovely course! if you get a chance to go, i would give it two thumbs up! It was very tough though, the course was still set up from some national final of an Audi comp? pin positions were very difficult to say the least! Also, their bunkers had what i can only describe as the "heaviest" sand i have ever encountered, it had rained a lot over night and during the morning, but they were very tough to get out of!! Don't know my individual score, i would estimate around 28-30 points, but it was a group event, best 2 scores from 4 full handicap. My team won! we got 83 points, we had one guy who played very well off 18, he must have been close to 36-38 points. They did say the best individual of the day, was a guy playing titliest blades off 14 and he shot 41 points!! fair play, but his team still lost!! LOL
Then this morning early doors, had my first EVER competitive round of golf in the weekly stableford, did ok, managed to scrape 29 points which i was OK with. Had a run of 3-4 shocking holes on front nine, made the turn on 12 points, so picked it up nicely which is encouraging! This new handicap shouldn't be that bad after all i reckon! Stuck a 7 iron to within 2ft for gross birdie, and a 80yrd wedge to within a foot for birdie too! so some good parts to the game today!
There we go, The wife is not interested AT ALL hence i thought i would share here..
