I've been thinking about becoming a greenkeeper . Going to start by looking to volunteer 1 day a week to see what it's like . I'm Struggling to find information on getting qualifications in yorkshire , if anyone can help me with some info it would be much appreciated . I'm 35 with 3 kids so not just a case of taking an apprenticeship route into it
thanks

Shame you are not in this area as we are looking for a new greenkeeper and also another club is

One thing to remember when you get into the job is to do it with care - you can tell when a greenkeeper cares about a course

Daz have a look at the bigga website it's a green keepers website with good info on and also bit of advise if you have 3 kids. The money won't be great. I'm lucky I'm still at home with parents.
It's a cracking job if you don't mind early mornings.
Any info you need let me know

Best to look up the BIGGA site.
The training college used to be at Bingley in my time, another one near Hull.
Could be a good move as some of the top earners in golf these days are the course managers at good courses.
Hard work, early starts, miserable 'know it all' members are the downside.

PM me if you want additional info.
