Have you seen it/ going to see it?

The good lady and I saw it last Saturday at the Aldwych Theatre in London.
And what a show it was! If you like Carole King and the music of that era, you're gonna love it!

For me it had everything, great singers, every one of them, comedy with some clever one liners. All put together really well with the story unfolding right to the end. I didn't realise that Carole was such a prolific songwriter as well as a fantastic singer.

I was so taken with the whole story, so I ordered her book, Carole King - A Natural Woman. Ordered from Amazon on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday.

Looking forward to learning more about her interesting life story.

Yes, Mrs Bim & I have seen it and would fully agree with your assessment. Loved the Jewish mother humour "is all I'm saying". :D

Would also recommend Memphis with Killian Donnelly and Beverley Knight; excellent story, shocking in places and a fantastic original score by David Bryan of Bon Jovi.

Also booked for the Motown; the Musical next March. That should be a belter.

We loved the Jewish mother too. Especially at the end, when she said something like, "I told you music was the career for you".

We both said that we should, "Do this more often". So will look into, Memphis. And Mowtown! Now that was definitely my era!
 Thanks.

You're welcome. Memphis is based on a true story of a white DJ trying to bring the new black music to the white masses and the conflict and prejudice that this entails. I would describe the score as being a mixture of rock, blues and gospel. Try and get tickets for a night with both Killian Donnelly & Beverley Knight, the website is quite upfront about their nights off & both were brilliant, although I see from the website that Matt Cardle is shortly to replace Killian Donnelly.

As for Motown the Musical I know nothing of the storyline but any musical with 50 Motown tracks in it gets my vote! :D
