Following a triple Axel and a toe loop with Lutz on the ice near our 12th tee I have a wrist and ankle like beach balls. My hip, which gives me grief at the best of times, and shoulder feel like they are being attacked by a demonic dentist's drill.

do I swap the soft spikes for metal spikes? Or should I pop a couple more Ibuprofen with whisky?

be careful out there folks.

Hope your OK, as you get older it takes much longer to get back up, how long were you down for

I'd do both, pop a pill, slurp of port and get the Stingers in, you'll be like spiderman on the fairway...

No long term damage I hope. I prefer metal spike in icy conditions but whether they actually give more grip or not I'm not sure of. Might just be a reassuring thing in my head

count yourself very lucky you could have been a lot worse .as in my case .i slipped on a wet railway sleeper that edged a path ,i did this in august ,i haven been able to work since and will probably require another operation to put my knee right. .
oh and well played Boro. lol.

Nice to see Brighton win again - still limped in with a gross 74....... Pity par on the winter course is 64

Hope the injuries clear up quickly. I consider myself fortunate to have stayed upright today as very slippy in places at ours, not sure what the answer is re spikes, possible that something similar to the old style moulded football studs might be a better option?

I thought Adidas had tried that?

That aside, a pal who has started playing again with us uses his steel pins all the time. When walking from our 9th to the tenth it is Tarmac most of the way. He sounds like the Coldstream guards when walking. Having said that, slipped walking down from the first tee and had the biggest skid mark going up his back you have ever seen.

So, BRI.....you know you're getting old if you have a fall rather than falling over....

Which was it?
I think we should be told......

being a natural athlete, and hugely competitive, I attempted to con one of my playing, who is a retired referee. Thankfully, as a first offence I wasn't carded but I did receive 4.9 off the Russian judge, who'd had a bung.
