I am stunned that the Beeb are still plodding on with the diluted unwatchable guff on BBC3 and 4 and would like to see them offer something sporty for a change.

With their archives bursting at the seems could the BBC not show archive sport. Golf (Open and Masters ect.) footy (FA Cup and other MOTD gems) and even Olympics would make for some good viewing and more interesting than the poop that is shown at the moment.

Problem is every time the BBC shows more sport then they get shed loads of complaints. Cannot believe that people complain if a one off sporting events means that they have to postpone a daily soap.

It is easy to argue that sporting events should be reserved for terrestrial TV but the fact is that they do not have the air time to show it and get more complaints if they do than if they do not.

They need to show a wider variety of porn. That would up the viewing figures.
Other benfits too. It's cheap to make. A small cast list, almost no writers, no costumes, a small set. It ticks so many boxes at a time of cost cutting.

Not sure that a re-running of the olympics would get that many viewrs.

Problem is that it would be filled with football. They have dedicated sports radio and still would rather commentate on a meaningless lower division football match than, for example, the rugby european cup final.

If BBC4 were showing a re run of the 'Dual in the Sun' I would watch it and probably Sky+ it too. I just think that they should have a channel showing all the great sporting moments they have recorded.

I could certainly see the room for a 'Sky Sports Classic' showing repeats of great events from the past. Would be even better if they could tie it in with current events so, for example, we could have classic Ryder cup moments on another channel during the competition.

Isn't that what ESPN on 429 is all about. It is full of old programmes and encounters from loads of different sports

The Proms are deemed cultural and thus 'worthy' so nobody would dare complain about them nomate how few people watch.
