I have been watching the BBC live coverage from 10am today. So far, I have seen a tour of Kent from the air in a chopper, a pop video made by some US players, listened to Monty and Paddy tell me about other Open holes and sat through countless more side stories that have been put together by the BBC to entertain.
I have absolutely no interest in any of this utter tripe. The biggest championship in the world is underway. The cream of golf is being tested on a very tough course in difficult weather and they are on the course now. Instead of broadcasting this, I am sat listening the Dan Walker ask Louis Ousthizen (sp) how many people get his name wrong these days.
What is wrong with these people? THe story is the live golf. The rest is hot air and garbage that they make to make their working lives more interesting as far as I can see....
Please can they put the golf on. The rest is irrelvant, self indulgent rubbish and they have been showing it for 1 hour and 11 minutes.
It is very poor by the BBC. Very poor indeed.
Edited to say that thanks to Dodger's post in reply to Murph (great minds and all that.....), I have now found the golf through the red button service.
Shame Mumsie Irvine didn't say at the start of the programme, "Welcome to over an hour of pure trash that we have for you here at Sandwich. If you want to actually watch some golf and not listen to our irrelevant inanity, then go to the red button etc........>"
